Tuesday: Inspiration 🚀

Story: “The AI-Powered Founder” 👩‍💻
How Jen Used AI for Productivity & Performance 🧘‍♂️ 🤖

Meet Jen (not real name for privacy reasons). Solo founder. Mother. ADHD.

She was drowning in browser tabs, Post-it notes, and half-finished thoughts. Classic solo founder chaos, seasoned with ADHD and a bunch of baby sleep debt.

Her days spun in circles—pivoting, battling imposter syndrome and forgetting to eat.

Then one afternoon, during her third meltdown of the week, she made a bizarre rule: Only answer questions asked by robots for 24 hours.

So she handed the wheel to Claude (ChatGPTs cousin).

She trained it to sort her emails into “ignore,” “reply in 3 words,” and “don’t open unless someone’s bleeding.”

It summarised endless threads, wrote pitch decks in her voice and generated weekly task lists based on her calendar.

The result?

In days, the panic fog lifted.

She reclaimed her cauliflower curry breaks (her fave dish).

Her inbox?

Down to zero-ish.

Her brain?

Finally free to think.

More deep work, less burnout, and…

The biggest shift?

She eliminated decision fatigue.

🛠 Takeaway:

Don’t try to automate your entire life.

That’s a one-way ticket to overwhelm.

Instead, pick one bottleneck.

That thing you avoid because it makes your brain feel like a tangled slinky. Write a prompt to handle it, then let AI chew through the chaos.

Start small.

Automate your meeting notes. Your groceries. Your first draft emails.

Because productivity isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing less... strategically.

And having time to eat lunch like a person, not a CEO. 🥪💻

→ What’s one small thing you could automate today?

AI Self-Growth 🌱

Welcome to the AI Fever Dream: Your Eyeballs Are the Product 👀

A woman looking at her robot self in the mirror

Look, we need to talk about the absolute hellscape your eyes are swimming through every day. 🧠

You're simultaneously consuming two reality streams: actual stuff (wars, sports, politicians doing dumb things) and what nerds are calling "AI slop" — an avalanche of computer-generated nonsense that's colonizing your feeds like digital kudzu.

We’re not just talking about weird AI generated cat videos or Will Smith eating spaghetti.

It's way darker!

MAGA fan fiction where Trump heroically owns everyone, Chinese propaganda showing fat Americans failing at factories, and this whole creepy universe of blonde, Nordic-looking "trad wives" living in some Stepford nightmare that never existed.

The truly messed up part?

Most of this garbage slides into your consciousness through WhatsApp and group chats, where nobody's fact-checking a damn thing.

Your otherwise sensible dad is getting bombarded with fake war footage from Sudan that looks convincing enough, sent by people he trusts, so why wouldn't he believe it?

We're dealing with a perfect nightmare scenario: AI systems trained on existing (already biased) data + algorithms that reward engagement no matter how rubbish the content is.

Facebook's not viewing this as trash — they're high-fiving about it in boardrooms because you’re getting sucked in, and they’re making a profit!

Less human work, more zombie scrolling, bigger exec bonuses. 😵‍💫

The end result is a sort of reality vertigo, where everything is simultaneously too real and completely fake.

That video of war crimes merges seamlessly with AI-generated fantasies in your feed, until your brain gives up trying to differentiate.

And while you're increasingly lost in these subjective reality tunnels, actual bad stuff keeps happening in the world that you're increasingly disconnected from.

Cool system we've built here, guys!

"Every time your brain can't distinguish AI content from reality, some algorithm gets its bonus. Your confusion isn't a bug, it's literally their business model."

"Your eyeballs consumed roughly 700 AI-generated images this week and your brain doesn't know which ones were real. The robot-generated hellscape isn't coming—you're already mainlining it daily."

– Cedric the AI Monk, Founder @WellWired

Key Takeaways

  • Your brain’s drowning in AI-generated content daily and has given up trying to filter it out — creating a funhouse mirror reality that's destroying your ability to see what's actually happening. 🚨

  • AI is turning into fascism's favorite new aesthetic tool — packaging white supremacy, traditional gender roles and authoritarian wet dreams as cozy nostalgia for a time that literally never existed.

  • Even if you consider yourself "aware" of this problem, you're still getting played — the entire system is engineered to overwhelm your mental defences, normalise horrific events and ultimately turn you into a drooling, doom-scrolling digital-zombie.

Why It Matters 🧠

Your monkey brain was designed to detect snakes in the grass, not distinguish between a photojournalist's war photo and something DALL-E crapped out while hallucinating on its training data. 🧩

Think about what happens when you can't even agree on basic facts anymore.

Democracy requires at least some shared reality.

When your cousin is convinced Trump already won the 2024 election because they saw images that "the media won't show you," (generated by AI) how do you even begin a conversation?

The economics make this even more horrifying. Making AI slop costs basically nothing, while actual journalism and quality content creation remains expensive and slow.

Truth is showing up to an info gunfight with a plastic spoon.

This matters because it's fundamentally reshaping how you process everything that happens on this planet. The real nightmare isn't just that you're being manipulated — it's that the manipulation is producing this weird detached nihilism.

Gaza?

Ukraine?

Climate collapse?

Just another scroll between AI puppies and idealised getaway cabin porn captioned "good vibes."

You're not just losing your grip on reality; you're losing your ability to give a crap about it. 💩

“There is no unique picture of reality"

—Stephen Hawking

What’s Next? 🔮

Your instinct might be to throw your phone into the nearest body of water, but let's be realistic — you'll be back online before it hits the bottom.

Instead…

…here's your survival kit for this hell dimension you may be trapped in:

First, develop your AI-dar.

The robot-generated stuff often has a certain uncanny perfection — faces too symmetrical, scenes too pristine, a weird glossiness to everything. Train yourself to spot these tells by comparing known AI content with actual photos.

It's like learning another language or spot designer knockoffs, except the fate of reality depends on it.

When sharing anything remotely political or emotionally charged, take ten seconds to reverse image search or check a source. Yes, it's annoying, but so is accidentally helping fascists spread propaganda because you couldn't be bothered. 🛠️

Hack your digital diet.

The algorithms notice when you linger on AI garbage and feed you progressively more warped content. Break the pattern by aggressively following accounts that post verified content with actual sources.

Your brain will hate you at first — it's like switching from Coco Pops to vegetables — but give it time.

Most importantly, be that annoying friend.

When someone shares obvious AI nonsense in the group chat, say something. "This looks AI-generated" is the new "Did you actually read this before sharing it?"

Yes, there will be eye-rolls, but future historians will thank you (assuming we make it that far).

Remember: your attention is the only truly scarce resource you have.

Every minute spent marinating in algorithmically-optimised reality slurry is time you're not spending in the actual world that's desperately in need of functioning human brains.

When you look back at this bizarre period from whatever comes next, will you recognise it as the moment humanity collectively decided to outsource reality itself to corporate algorithms?

Or is there still time to wake up from this particularly stupid fever dream?

Yuval Noah Harari’s Nexus: A Brief History of Information Networks

Yuval Noah Harari touching a robot hand (image source The Guardian)

6 Smart Shifts That’ll Change How You See the Internet, Power and People 🧘‍♂️🤖

Yuval Noah Harari’s Nexus: A Brief History of Information Networks isn’t just a stroll through AI history—it’s a guided tour of how humans have been linking up (and messing things up) since the Stone Age.

From tribal gossip to TikTok tantrums, Harari unpacks how networks shape minds, societies, and today, our machines. If you’ve ever wondered why your life is ruled by likes, DMs, and data flows, this is the map that will show you how.

Here’s Yuvals distilled ideas, punchy, condensed and syrupy with wisdom—like the perfect espresso for your brain:

1. Gossip Built Civilisation 🗣️

Harari argues that storytelling and social chatter weren’t distractions—they were the original code that held early human tribes together.

Without networks of shared beliefs and whispered warnings, you’d still be arguing with your family over who gets the last mango pudding.

Why it matters: Your daily chatter isn’t trivial; it’s tribal. Sharing your stories fosters connection and enriches community.

Try this: Next time you’re tempted to scroll in silence, share a story instead. Your brain—and your social circle—will thank you.

2. Power Lives in the Links 🌐

The strength of a network isn’t in the number of nodes—it’s in the quality of their connections.

Translation: Whether it’s a tribe or Twitter, influence goes to the person (or code) who plugs into the network, or community, the best, not shouts loudest.

Why it matters: Strong, meaningful connections amplify your impact. Make your comms less about broadcasting, more about bonding.

Try this: Focus on deepening your relationships rather than expanding your contact list. Quality trumps quantity every time.

3. From Scrolling to Silicon 📜

Religious texts, empires, bureaucracies—all built their dominance by mastering how information moved. The printing press didn’t just make books—it created a revolution. AI’s rewriting the next chapter, and it’s reading everything you've ever posted.

Why it matters: Being mindful of information sources helps maintain autonomy. Don’t let unseen hands dictate your beliefs.

Try this: Diversify your information diet. Seek out multiple perspectives to build a well-rounded worldview.

4. Networks Change How We Think 🧠

Information isn’t just delivered—it shapes cognition. Networks determine what ideas spread, which emotions go viral and how you make decisions. It's less about truth, more about what sticks (and who shouts in the right echo chamber).

Why it matters: Your environment molds your mindset. Curating your inputs can lead to healthier thought patterns.

Try this: Audit your media consumption. Replace negative or shallow content with sources that inspire you, educate you and pull at your heart-strings.

5. AI Is the New Priesthood 🤖

Today’s AI tech giants don’t wear robes, but they do mediate belief, behaviour, and attention. Harari warns: when codes morph into your moral compass, the line between informed and indoctrinated gets foggy—fast.

Why it matters: Blind trust in AI can lead to manipulation. Awareness is your first line of defence.

Try this: Question the recommendations and information presented by AI. Seek human insight alongside machine suggestions.

6. Feedback Loops Rule the World 🔁

The internet didn’t just connect us—it trapped us in behavioural loops. Likes lead to dopamine, dopamine leads to more content and the system optimises not for truth but for stickiness. AI didn’t invent this. It just industrialised it.

Why it matters: Recognising these loops can help you break free from biased cycles. Conscious consumption leads to conscious living.

Try this: Introduce variety into your routines. Challenge yourself with new experiences to disrupt unhelpful patterns.

So what does this all mean when your brain’s been marinading in memes, newsfeeds and algorithm-fuelled déjà vu?

It means you're not just a passive lurker—you’re part of the system. Your clicks cast votes. Your shares shape narratives.

Your silence?

That’s a data point too.

Harari’s message is clear: information networks don’t just inform you—they form you.

So the next time you’re scrolling past another face-filtered opinion or a perfectly curated crisis, pause.

Ask yourself: is this expanding my mind or just recycling someone else’s?

Because in a world where attention’s been sliced thinner than a deli ham, choosing what you focus on isn’t just self-care—it’s a strategy.

Remember, in a world where information is power, staying informed and intentional is your superpower.

TL;DR?

The network isn’t just the thing you're on—it’s the thing you’re in.

Stay weird. Stay watchful. Stay wired.

A quick, bite-sized AI tip, trick or hack focused on wellbeing, productivity and self-growth that you can use right now!

The Deep Work Method: The AI-Driven System That Protects Your Most Valuable Mental Real Estate 🤖

⚡ What You'll Learn

You sat down to conquer your to-do list and somehow woke up in a Wikipedia wormhole about the mating rituals of narwhals. Your brain’s not broken—it’s just been hijacked by chaos goblins.

You don’t need more willpower—you need AI to herd the chaos like a librarian on roller skates.

The average knowledge worker now loses 2.1 hours daily to digital distraction—but what if AI could reclaim those hours without you lifting a finger?

“The average person is distracted every 40 seconds when working in front of a computer. Even the most productive workers get only 11 minutes on average between interruptions. ”

What 🧠

Think of AI as your personal focus bouncer, keeping distractions out of the VIP section of your brain.

By creating custom deep work protocols tailored to your specific mental rhythms, AI tools can structure your environment, time and information flow for maximum concentration.

So ask ChatGPT:

Design a fully personalized Deep Work protocol to help me accomplish [user goal] in the context of [working environment/context].

My ideal focus window is [morning/afternoon/evening], and I tend to get distracted by [specific distractions]. I need to complete and deliver [deliverable] by [deadline].

The protocol should be tailored and actionable, and must include the following five components:

Environment Setup – Recommend physical and digital adjustments to optimize my workspace for deep focus.

Digital Boundaries – Define tools, apps, and behavioral rules to minimize distractions and enhance digital hygiene.

Time-Blocking Schedule – Suggest a customized daily schedule based on my optimal focus period, including realistic work/rest intervals.

Success Metrics – Create measurable indicators to help me track progress and stay motivated.

Recovery & Recharge – Include short-term (daily) and long-term (weekly) recovery strategies to prevent burnout and sustain performance.

Make sure the recommendations are practical, science-backed, and aligned with my working habits and constraints.

Why 🤷🏽‍♂️

Because your brain wasn't designed for multitasking, infinite tabs, endless notifications, or 24/7 availability—but it was designed to do amazing things when properly focused.

How ⚙️

  • Set up your AI focus sentinel – Use tools like Motion, Notion AI, or Claude to create and maintain your deep work boundaries.

  • Create digital moats – Have your AI assistant automatically silence notifications, block distracting websites and draft "unavailable" responses during your focus blocks.

  • Implement bio-aware scheduling – Feed your productivity data to your AI tool so it learns when your brain naturally peaks and schedules deep work accordingly.

  • Design implementation intentions – Your AI can draft specific if-then protocols for handling common interruptions ("If a non-urgent Slack message arrives, then it gets auto-tagged for review after 4pm").

  • Build recovery rituals – The AI schedules mandatory brain breaks using science-based recovery techniques (not just more screen time).

Quick Takeaway: ⚡

Your brain has 3 hours of peak performance daily.

AI doesn't increase that—it builds fortress walls around those hours so nothing steals your mental gold. 🧠💰⏱️

🤖 Bonus AI Tool:

🔗 Try "Dewo" (now Timely) which uses machine learning to analyse your digital behavior, automatically silence notifications during flow states and reschedule meetings to preserve your deepest focus blocks.

Ready to out focus 90% of knowledge workers?
