Outsmart Your Mental Blindspots with AI
Greetings, human!
Today we’re tackling something that haunts every independent wellness business owner, expert and entrepreneur—including you.
It sneaks into your work, your personal life and even the seemingly simple choices—like whether you should finally embrace oat milk or stick to dairy.
The art of decision-making.
When faced with big choices, my brain often resembles a flamingo on roller skates trying to navigate an obstacle course—chaotic, unbalanced and inevitably crashing into something expensive.
If you’re a wellness business owner like me (or you own a business of any sort) you’re not just following a well-worn trail of decision-makers before you… 🐺🌟
You’re carving your own path, often shouldering the weight of those decisions alone and in the darkness.
And like me, you’ve probably felt it before—the analysis paralysis that turns a simple choice into an exhausting mental marathon.
Maybe it was picking a gym?
You spent hours Googling, debating, questioning whether you were now a “Pilates person.” You finally made your choice—only to immediately second-guess everything.
Should you have gone for the one with the sauna?
Was spin class secretly your destiny?
Have you just made a terrible life choice?
Your brain was running laps around itself, paralysed by options.
And that’s the problem—your mind loves tripping you up. You get stuck in mental quicksand, unable to move forward because of sneaky cognitive traps you don’t even realise you’re falling into.
But what if you had a trusted consigliere—a calm, strategic advisor immune to emotional over-analysis that could help you at every step of the way?
Well my friend…
That’s why I created a personal advisor prompt to help you cut through the noise—think Godfather meets Gandhi!
Let's d-d-d-d-dive in! 🤿
What you'll learn today:
✅ The 3 sneaky mental traps derailing your business choices
✅ How AI can function as your cognitive periscope
✅ The "Consigliere Compass" prompt that transforms indecision into strategic clarity
The invisible mental quicksand swallowing your best intentions
Here's the thing about your brain…
Without trusted advisors to balance your thinking, there are a whole host of cognitive potholes that catch you unaware and stop you from making intuitive decisions that serve you…

Butt-head falling down a pot hole
Here are some of the most common mental potholes that affect your decision making.
And… You probably don’t even realise you’re stuck in one or all of them…
1. Echo Chamber Effect
We all instinctively gravitate toward evidence that mirrors our existing worldview. This is called an echo chamber.
An echo chamber refers to a closed system where you are only exposed to opinions and information that align with your own beliefs, reinforcing your pre-existing views without being challenged by contradictory evidence.
What does that look like?
Imagine if you only ever listened to songs you already know - you'd never discover that life-changing new artist.
This effect also happens when you make decisions…
You end up stuck in a mental Spotify loop, replaying the same old tracks of thought, convinced you're making the best choice—when in reality, you're just vibing to your own cognitive greatest hits.
And that’s where things get dangerous.
Without fresh perspectives, you miss out on smarter, more strategic decisions. It’s like running a business with noise-cancelling headphones on—you might feel confident, but you're also ignoring crucial signals that could change everything.
So, how do you break free?
By consciously tuning into new ideas, challenging your own assumptions, and—if you’re feeling fancy—leveraging AI as a mental DJ to spin perspectives you’ve never considered.
2. Golden Handcuffs Syndrome
This explains why we cling to dying projects like koalas to a falling tree.
We keep pouring resources into initiatives simply because we've already invested so much.
The meta model term for this is called a Sunk Cost Fallacy.
The sunk cost fallacy is your tendency to follow through with something that you’ve already invested heavily in (be it time, money, effort, or emotional energy), even when giving up is clearly a better idea.
But here’s the thing—just because you’ve spent ages climbing the wrong tree doesn’t mean you have to ride it all the way down.
The smartest move?
Let go before you hit the ground.
Whether it’s a failing business venture, a project that’s draining your soul, or a Netflix series like Scrubs that peaked three seasons ago—sunk costs shouldn’t dictate your future choices.
Instead, shift your focus to opportunity cost: what could you gain if you stopped clinging and made space for something better?
Because the best decisions aren’t about what you’ve already spent—they’re about what’s still possible. 🌱✨
3. First Impression Fixation
Your mind is a bit like a stubborn GPS—it locks onto the first piece of information it receives and stubbornly refuses to reroute, no matter how many better roads appear along the way.
This is called Anchoring Bias or the First Impression Fixation…
Once your brain grabs onto an initial detail, it uses it as a reference point for everything that follows—even when that first impression is completely irrelevant, outdated, or just plain wrong.
🔹 Tasted an overpriced coffee that seemed fancy? Now every café that charges less feels like a bargain—even if the coffee tastes like burnt regret.
🔹 Met someone on a bad day? Your mind might label them as grumpy for life, even if they’re usually a ray of sunshine.
🔹 Got quoted a sky-high price first? A "discounted" offer feels like a steal—even if it's still wildly overpriced.
So, how do you break free?
Simple: Pause. Question. Recalibrate. Before locking in a decision… and god almighty challenge that first piece of information. Is it actually true, or is your brain just clinging to an anchor that’s dragging you in the wrong direction?
Remember, sometimes the first bite isn’t the whole meal. 🍽️ 🚀

So what to do about these three cognitive traps?
Mere awareness of these traps isn’t enough—your brain doesn’t come with a pop-up warning when you’re about to fall into one. These biases operate stealthily, like a hacker in your mental mainframe, rewriting your logic before you even realise it.
And that’s exactly why AI is the perfect cognitive co-pilot. ✈️
Unlike your brain (which loves shortcuts and emotional detours), AI isn’t swayed by gut feelings, past investments, or whatever mood you’re in after skipping breakfast.
It can scan through vast amounts of data, challenges your assumptions, and act as a mental crowbar, prying open perspectives you wouldn’t have considered.
Whether it’s helping you rethink a business decision, analyse risks more objectively, or simply stop you from impulse-buying yet another productivity app, AI is the detached, rational advisor your overworked brain desperately needs.
So, how do you turn AI into your personal decision-making consigliere?
Let’s find out!
Harness AI as your mental crowbar for prying open new perspectives!
AI's decision-making superpower distills to one essence:
Detachment.
After spending years creating digital projects, content and art, I've learned humans are more like pigeons playing chess than grandmasters… ♟️
Our neural wiring prioritises fast reactions, not nuanced analysis.

However, AI can boost your decision-making because it remains unmoved by the emotional currents that sweep you away.
It stands outside the storm. 💦
When human intuition meets algorithmic objectivity, you can transcend your cognitive boundaries.
Here’s how…
PROMPT CORNER
The "Consigliere Compass" Prompt
This prompt channels the strategic brilliance of history's greatest advisors - those behind-the-scenes strategists who guided leaders through treacherous decisions.
And it helps you beat those pesky cognitive potholes we just discovered!
[START OF PROMPT]
I need you to act as my personal strategic consigliere for an important decision.
To give you the right context, here’s my situation: [INSERT RELEVANT BACKGROUND – e.g., career, business, personal life, or any critical factors influencing this decision].
I am currently evaluating my options between:
[LIST CHOICE ALTERNATIVES – e.g., two job offers, investment choices, personal life decisions, etc.].
The most important factor guiding my decision is: [STATE YOUR PRIMARY OBJECTIVE – e.g., financial growth, personal fulfilment, long-term stability, risk minimisation, etc.].
As my trusted advisor, I want you to:
Analyse each option based on my stated priority and highlight its potential advantages and drawbacks.
Identify cognitive biases I might be falling into, such as confirmation bias, escalation of commitment, or initial impression bias, and explain how they could distort my judgment.
Provide an objective, rational evaluation of which option best aligns with my goals—without emotional influence or personal bias.
Illuminate any blind spots I may not have considered and help me gain a clear-headed perspective.
Deliver your counsel in a straightforward yet respectful manner, focusing on evidence-based reasoning over emotional appeals. If additional context would help refine your advice, please ask clarifying questions before proceeding.
[END OF PROMPT]
HOW TO IMPLEMENT THE CONSIGLIERE COMPASS:
Fill the [INSERT BACKGROUND] and secondary sections with your relevant context. Example: "I run a digital wellness platform called 'Mind Garden'. I create mindfulness content across multiple channels, maintain a community of wellness entrepreneurs and publish insights twice weekly..." 🌱
Clearly articulate your choice alternatives. Example: "I'm weighing options between developing a mobile meditation app or creating an immersive VR relaxation experience."
Define your primary objective. Example: "My ultimate priority is creating the most accessible tool possible that can help beginners establish consistent mindfulness practices."
This is how my consigliere resolved a social media growth dilemma:
Here’s a little sneak peak of the output that I received from the Consigliere Compass prompt when I plugged it into ChatGPT.
I asked it to help me make a decision about what social media platform to use to promote my AI wellness magazine and build my subscriber base.
Yes, that’s you cherished subscriber! 👁️
At the time I was evaluating my options between using Linked-in or Instagram.

The verdict was to cross-promote between the two platforms. My consigliere advised me not to pick one, but instead to use LinkedIn for authority and Instagram for engagement.
I agree oh Gigabyte Godfather! ❤️

WHAT YOU DISCOVERED TODAY:
The 3 mental traps sabotaging your decision-making process
How AI provides the objectivity your brain naturally lacks
How to navigate complex choices with the Consigliere Compass prompt
Speaking of decisions…
Yesterday I spent three hours in the supermarket trying to pick out a jar of peanut butter. Smooth or crunchy? Organic or the one with the slightly dodgy-looking label that promised “extra protein”?
Reece, Pics or Mayvers? 🥜
By the time I left, I was questioning my entire existence and clutching a family-sized bag of salt and vinegar crisps instead.
Your brain loves to turn simple choices into high-stakes negotiations.
But unlike my sore stomach from engulfing a whole bag of tangy crisps, you no longer need to be in pain from your decisions!
Now you have a digital referee to call the shots and keep you from spiralling into analysis paralysis!
Maybe I’ll just get carrot sticks next time… 🥕

Key AI Wellbeing, Productivity and Self Growth AI news, trends and ideas from around the world:
Wellness: The AI Health Coaches That Keep You Accountable 🧬
Imagine an AI that knows your bad habits better than your mum does. One that reminds you to take your meds, nudges you to hit the gym instead of the couch and swaps your late-night pizza craving for a healthier alternative. 🍕 🥦
With AI health coaches, you could have a yoga teacher, naturopath and executive coach bundled into one sleek app—minus the guilt trip!
Why This Matters: Changing behaviour is hard (we see you, unused gym membership). AI can make life easier, healthier, and keep you on track by nudging you towards healthier choices—before your body sends you the bill. 💪
Wellness: Future Kids: Smarter, Faster… But at What Cost? 🤖🧠
Oxford researchers are trying to understand how AI might affect young minds—because let’s be real, TikTok’s already got their attention span down to three seconds. 🎥 ⏳
With AI chatbots, social media algorithms and a raft of digital tutors shaping how kids think, it's time to figure out if AI is helping or just rewiring their brains like a dodgy electrician.
Why This Matters: Because let’s face it, AI is doing more than just changing how you work; it’s shaping how the next generation thinks. If we don’t study its impact now, we might end up with kids who can out-chatbot ChatGPT but struggle with writing and basic human interaction. 🤯
Productivity: Robots Can Fold Laundry—But Can They Write A Novel?⚡
You now live in a reality where AI can churn out essays, art, and even chat your socks of like your best mate. It's tempting to let the bots handle everything. But before you do, think of this ancient Jewish wisdom!
The rabbis split work into two camps: 'melakhah' (the creative stuff that lights your fire) and 'avodah' (the grunt work you'd rather skip). Their take? Embrace the creative grind; it's what makes you tick. So, while it's cool to have AI tackle the boring bits, keep the juicy projects for yourself.
After all, do you really want to live in a world where robots have all the fun?
Why This Matters: Letting AI handle the mundane frees you up for the creative hustle that brings joy and purpose. It's about balance: automate the chores, but keep the passion projects close to your heart and decidedly human.
Self Growth: Meditation Meets Machine: How AI is Boosts Mindfulness 🧘♂️
Deepak Chopra has been meditating longer than most of us have been alive—five hours a day, no stress, all zen. But now, he’s taking his divinity digital.
His latest book, "Digital Dharma", explores how AI can elevate spiritual intelligence, with ChatGPT and Perplexity AI infusing wisdom into your reality like a robo-Rabbi.
Chopra’s even co-founded Cyberhuman.ai, an AI-powered wellness service, proving that tech and transcendence may be soulmates. Whether AI can actually help you reach enlightenment or just suggest better breathing exercises—jury’s still out.
Why This Matters: Chopra's approach shows the potential for AI to complement traditional wellness practices and guide you in the pursuit of mental and spiritual well-being.
Self Growth: Ray Dalio’s AI Mentor: Billionaire Wisdom on Autopilot 🤖💰
Ray Dalio is harnessing the legendary learnings from his book Principles into an AI-powered coach—so now you can get billionaire advice without the billionaire price tag. Want to know how to handle a crisis? Negotiate like a pro? Or just figure out what the hell to do next?
Dalio’s AI is about to be your always-on mentor, minus the stuffy boardrooms!
Dalio says he’s making sure his AI doesn’t “hallucinate,” which is reassuring—because bad investing advice from a rogue bot sounds like a Black Mirror horror special waiting to happen. 🎭
Why This Matters: Forget paying $10,000 for a life coach with a TED Talk obsession. Dalio’s AI mentor is bringing billionaire brainpower to the masses—whether you're juggling a hedge fund or just trying to survive your inbox. 📈💡
